I like starting as barbarian with some old religion and having the country form and grow into a new tech category and new religion, etc. Havent tried out the japanese ones, any recommendations regarding the timeline, Fluffy Fishy? I havent played too far back, I tend to start in the times when japan has been split into vassals, it usually takes about years to unify japan and then it tends to play out as annexing the korean peninsula and onwards to china, once you have japan unified korea is a push over but china is quite good fun. Italy created the HRE so I went there and screwed them up The biggest problem with extended timeline is that blobs seems to have a real hard time failing and falling apart when they should, but I love the inflation of cash compared to the original and army sizes you almost never see vs clashes in the original and the fact that there's more losses i nthe wars. Playing West Francia was quite fun have created France - and still under a constant threat. It might be fun to try and unite the world under the Romans though.
I have had fun games playing fairly early starts as Venice, Holland, England even wessex but it frustrates me I couldn't get english ideas and couple of the japanese tags. It depends almost entirely what you like to do in the campaign. Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts.
